Rob Gorski, chairman of Stalybridge Celtic is hopeful that manager Jim Harvey will stay with them despite reports he might be wanted by Hereford United.
"We’ve not had any interest from Hereford," he told the Tameside Advertiser. "Jim signed a two-year contract with us in July and I hope he’ll remain at Stalybridge for at least a further two.
"He’s doing a magnificent job here despite the fact we’re basically a squad of youngsters.
"Jim is a class manager and the whole board wants him around for many years to come."
Harvey is currently 16/1 with SkyBet to take the Hereford job.
Just nine months ago former Stalybridge manager Steve Burr left for Kidderminster.
