Northampton manager Ian Sampson has been working hard with his squad to try and convert chances into goals this week.
The Cobblers have lost their last three matches and failed to score in their last two.
"The whole of last week we did shooting every day and we did a lot of defending," Sampson told H&P sport. "We’ll carry on doing that today and hopefully that will pay off.
"I’m a little bit concerned that we don’t hit the back of the net which is obviously vital in football. If we can put that right I’m sure we’ll start climbing up the table.
"It’s just taking the chances that come along and being a little bit more clinical in front of goal."
Sampson, who currently has the backing of his chairman, is well aware that Hereford recently sacked Simon Davey.
"That’s the nature of the job," he said.
"The Hereford manager is testament to what happens in football, so let’s hope that everyone can stay strong and believe in what we’re doing, and we can go up the table."
