News Round Up

Burton and Northampton have both been linked to Crewe striker Calvin Zola. Burton boss Paul Peschisolido told the press he had a done deal for the striker but Zola was stalling over the travel from is Wirral home. Lincoln are claimed to be considering Northwich boss Andy Preece as their new manager. The former Worcester boss has impressed many watchers while working on a shoestring budget.

Stockport have signed Southampton defender Anthony Pulis on a months loan. The 26 year old has started only 17 League games in his entire career, largely spending it in the reserve teams of sides his father Tony managed. Leyton Orient owner Barry Hearn has warned that his club will fold if West Ham move into the Olympic Stadium, which is less than two miles from Brisbane Road. He called the Hammers' claims over Spurs moving to the ground to be hypocrisy considering what their move would to Orient.

Danny Carey-Bertram has joined Hednesford on loan for a month after falling out of favour at AFC Telford. Former Telford boss Rob Smith, who signed Carey-Bertram for the Bucks, is now boss at Hednesford. Jimmy Quinn says he has had no contact from York about their managerial post despite applying for the job. They are expected to name their new boss soon after caretaker boss Andy Porter left the club earlier in the week.

Three York players have been given fines and community service orders after a late night fracas in August 2009. The incident involved ex-Bull Michael Ingham but he was cleared last month.
