Tony James has returned to Edgar Street on a month loan from Burton.
The former Club Captain comes back to the club after just over four years away. He played over 250 times for the Bulls but was released by Graham Turner after the Bulls regained their League place. He was the subject of a cash bid by John Trewick last January, prompting the Brewers to tie him down to a contract for the current season but he has made only five appearances this term, spending the last two matches as an unused sub.
James, who still lives in the area, comes in as the Bulls central defensive options are reduced through injury. Janos Kovacs remains sidelined while Ryan Green has been ruled out for the weekend and Michael Townsend has been playing with strapping on his leg.
Burton boss Paul Peschisolido told their official site: "Tony has been frustrated that he hasn't been getting the games here. This is a good opportunity for him to go out for a month and get his fitness levels up and sharpness back.
"The fact that he is travelling in a long way every day and not getting a game is very frustrating for him. I've spoken with Tony and we both agree it's a good decision."
Meanwhile Hereford chairman David Keyte has welcomed James back to Edgar Street.
"Tony will add experience and bring confidence to the rest of his team mates and we look forward to having him on board."
