It was the second leg of a first round Coca Cola Cup match at The Manor Ground. The Bulls had lost the first leg 2-0 at Edgar Street the previous week after Wayne Biggins had duped the referee into awarding a penalty for the slightest of brushes with the always-gentle Dean Smith and Murphy flooked a 25-yarder passed Chris MacKenzie.
Any hopes of a reverse of the deficit were dashed when Chris Allen crashed a drive into the Bulls net. Smith grabbed second before Moody stabbed home a third before half time. The Bulls staged a second half rally with a splendid Andy Reece thunderbolt and a Dean Smith header from a Murray Fishlock corner.
The attendance was 3571 and The Bulls lined up… Chris MacKenzie, Gareth Stoker, Kevin Lloyd, Dean Smith, Gary Pick, Andy Reece, Tony Pounder, Richard Wilkins, Neil Lyne, Steve White and Murray (some people thought he would be here forever) Fishlock.
