Ilkeston Town have been wound up in the High Court over an unpaid tax debt of just over £50,000.
The club offered to pay off the debt at £1,000 a month, claiming that they were also about to sell a player for £20,000, but the court registrar told them at the end of the two minute hearing: "I'm sorry, the company is plainly insolvent and I therefore make the final compulsory order."
The Conf North side, who have ex-Bull Chukki Eribenne on their books, say they are to lodge an appeal.
