Stuart Fleetwood (pictured at ES in 2006), born 23rd April 1986 in Gloucester, is a former Wales Under 21 international striker. Fleetwood joined Cardiff City at the age of 12, making 12 first-team appearances between 2003 and 2006. After falling out of favour at Ninian Park, he was placed on the transfer list and was picked up by Graham Turner at Hereford in January 2006.
The striker made a flying start to his Hereford career, scoring four goals in five games, and featured as a sub against Halifax in the play-off final victory. The following season, Fleetwood scored United's first goal back in the Football League at Stockport and followed that up with a hattrick against Coventry City in the Carling Cup. However, he contracted a virus in October 2006, and failed to make the same impact when he returned. He was loaned out to Accrington in January 2007, before eventually being released at the end of the season.
Fleetwood joined Forest Green for the 2007/2008 season, and scored for fun in the Conference, notching up 28 goals in 41 games. The good form has seen him continually linked with league teams, and Charlton snapped him up for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2008. He failed to make any impact at the Valley though, with his one appearance coincidentally coming at Edgar Street in the Carling Cup in August 2009. Whilst with the Addicks, he was loaned out to Cheltenham, Brighton and Exeter, where he had two spells, scoring nine times in fifty-three appearences.
