Davey Hopes For Thirteen Bulls By 4pm

Hereford United manager Simon Davey has said that he hopes to have thirteen players signed by 4pm this afternoon.

As reported earlier he signed O'Neil Thompson from Barnsley this morning.

"It’s a season-long loan so effectively he is a Hereford United player," Davey told the Hereford Times. "He’s got one-year left on his contract at Barnsley so he becomes our player.

"He’s a full international and he’s a player that can play in two positions. He plays in central midfield for his country and he’s also played at centre-back so he gives us an option.

"I am expecting another signing to be done by 4pm this afternoon. I inherited a squad of six and, hopefully, by the end of the today, I should have 13. We have come a long way in a short space of time. I envisage it will probably slow down but once you have your core group in, you can be a bit more selective with the players at the end of it."
