Bulls Fans Accused Of Vote Rigging

The Shropshire Star has accused Bulls fans of attempting to rig the poll to name Shrewsbury's stadium.

The paper points to posts on the Bulls Banter forum urging people to opt for 'Coliseum' as their choice, an option already openly derided by Shrews supporters, even though one of the two posts making that statement came from a Shrews fan. The new stadium sponsors have already had to add 'Meadow' to their choices after pressure from fans, and have reportedly made a gaffe by sending an internal email to the list of voters, revealing the email addresses of all the voters.

The paper quotes one fan as saying "None of them really inspire." but it is unclear whether he refers to the team, or the name choices.

Meanwhile Oldham have parted company with boss Dave Penney after just one season.

The former Darlington and Doncaster boss won just 13 of 48 games in charge, narrowly avoiding relegation to League Two. The decision to part ways could put the future of ex-Bull Rob Purdie up in the air. The 27 year old followed Penney from the Quakers to Boundary Park, but had not made a single appearance for the club due to injury. He still has one year remaining on his current contract.
