News Round Up

Ex-Bull Stuart Fleetwood has extended his loan at Brighton for a second month. He is yet to score for the club in eight games. Leeds may recall on-loan players at Millwall and Cheltenham as they look to climb back up the table. The club have won only two of their last six League games.

The FA are to investigate irregular betting on Redditch's 2-1 loss to Burscough last month. The twelve major betting firms stopped taking bets the day before the game, while Betfair took £15,000 of bets on a match that would only usually generate a few hundred pounds. Claims have been made that several of the bets are in the names of Redditch players.

Luton are to complain to the FA after Southend fielded a player under the age of 16 in the FA Cup. The Hatters were refused permission - despite an injury crisis - to do the same in Round One as it is now against the FA Cup rules, but Southend were granted permission for a Round Two match.

Peterboro owner Darragh MacAnthony has told the press their highest earner is on £3,000 a week. He also revealed they have agreed a deal worth over £400,000 for Gabriel Zakuani from Fulham. Swindon coach Ady Williams has been charged with common assault following his arrest last month and will face magistrates in January. The offence carries a maximum prison sentence of six months.

Scunthorpe have recalled striker Jonathan Forte from his loan at Notts County. He scored four times in four games for the Magpies, and is needed due to injuries to Ben May and Paul Hayes. Millwall's match with Leeds in February is to be shown live on Sky, the fourth live Leeds match this season.
