A kind gesture from Oldham

The news on the employment front is bleak with jobs losses being announced every day.

Around Herefordshire, jobs are going or have gone at Bulmers, Forest Fencing, the Hereford Times and the Wye Valley Group amidst others.

And like in many others towns and cities Woolworths in Hereford is set to close in January.

It's the same all over the UK.

However one League One club has made a kind gesture to those being made redundant at their two local Woolies.

Oldham Football Club have presented the staff with 75 free tickets for Saturday's home game against Leyton Orient.

"It's very nice of Latics to think of all the staff here at Woolworths," said supervisor Amanda Warburton.

"It's nice to know someone cares about us."
