Scunthorpe chairman Steve Wharton has told local press that reports that they have been bid £800,000 for former Hereford United loan player Gary Hooper are incorrect.
"As far as I know we have had no contact from Derby - and £800,000 would not even pay the deposit we would want," said Wharton.
"I think it's extremely unlikely that any club would come in with a big enough offer that is likely to tempt us.
"We do not have to sell and we do not want to sell.
"I have not spoken to Gary Hooper himself, but I would certainly hope he sees his future here at Scunthorpe for longer than a year.
"I would not be surprised if there is some interest in Gary because he is playing well for us."
