Richard Rose, who played right back for the Bulls at Leyton Orient yesterday, seemed convinced that Hereford United's fortunes will improve despite being defeated by two goals to one.
"We took the lead then after that they seemed to get back at us a little bit," Rose told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"We seemed a little bit tentative to go forwards and then they got back and obviously got the goal just before half-time which was a bit of a killer
"The second half we came out - we knew that we can compete at this level anyway before the game and I think we showed that."
Next Saturday Yeovil Town are the visitors to Edgar Street for the first home match of the season. The Somerset club could only manage a 1-1 at Huish Park yesterday against Walsall.
Their attendance was 4518 with about 400 supporters from Walsall.
