Despite scoring first for the second game running Hereford United couldn't hold onto their lead and the ratings given to their players reflected their second-half display.
Just three received a seven - Kris Taylor, Matty Done and Moses Ashikodi. Interestingly two of these three players were subbed during the second half.
The remainder of the team all were given a six each except goalkeeper Darren Randolph (five), who, for the second game running, doesn't yet look an adequate replacement for Wayne Brown.
The Bulls had just two shots on target. However Palace were often pinned back and only had three shots on target. But they forced seven corners against just three awarded to the Bulls.
The only booking of the game was given to Ashikodi for dissent in the last minute of normal time. The incident was spotted by the one of the assistant referees.
Palace supporters had little interest in this Carling Cup game. The attendance was just 3,094 with 372 from Hereford.
