Anti-Knife Campaign supported by FA

A new campaign aimed at cutting the number of young people who carry knives has been launched.

Called "It Doesn't Have To Happen", the launch was supported by David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand and David James. It is supported by the FA.

The players met Home Secretary Jacqui Smith and senior police officers ahead of their match with the Czech Republic.

The hard-hitting campaign, which was designed by youngsters, uses social networking site Bebo to reach a youth audience through dedicated website www.itdoesnthavetohappen.co.uk.
