News Round Up

Wrexham have been installed as joint 11/2 favourites for the Conference alongside Stevenage. Mansfield are rated fourth favourites behind Torquay, while both play-off finalists are currently available at 18/1. Huddersfield have appointed former Rochdale boss Mick Docherty as a coach.

The FA have dropped some of the charges in the ongoing Luton case. The club, some former directors, and a number of agents were all charged over irregular payments but the charges to the six agent for failing to disclose all payments have now been dropped, leaving each agent facing a single charge. Colchester have signed defender Matt Heath in a permanent deal from Leeds after a loan spell.

Halifax will drop at least three divisions if they are thrown out of the Conference, after the FA confirmed that the Unibond Premier division was full and would not be altered. There is, however, space in the Unibond Division One following restructuring. Rushden are shaping up for a title tilt with bids for top Conference strikers Lee Phillips and Daryl Clare.

Luton will almost certainly start life in League Two with a 15 point deduction after their CVA proposals were rejected by creditors. The protracted takeover move will now buy the club's assets from the Administrators before creating a new club that will fall foul of the same rules that saw Leeds docked the penalty.
