Reports from the Darlington press suggest there were plenty if scouts at yesterday's game but, as ever, it's uncertain who they were watching.
Hereford fans, making their longest trip of the season, swelled the crowd to better than average. It also included some interested observers - scouts from a total of 28 clubs including five from the Premiership: Manchester United, Portsmouth, Blackburn, Bolton and Birmingham. reported the Evening Gazette.
As regards the Darlington team, former Hereford United player Rob Purdie was probably their best player on the day but it seems unlikely scouts would be following his progress.
However Hereford United's Dean Beckwith is believed to be a potential target of several clubs including Wolverhampton and on-loan striker Gary Hooper is another player who may have been watched.
