After nearly five years with Macmillan Cancer Support, Herefordshire's Fundraising Manager Ron Davies is leaving the post and putting his feet up.
Ron started work with the charity in June 2003 and has helped raise around Three Million Pounds since then.
From June 2006 he has been busy fundraising for the Macmillan Renton Appeal, a state of the art cancer unit which will replace the Charles Renton Unit at Hereford Hospital.
Ron said 'I will miss contact with the charity's supporters and the public. Doing this job has made me realise how many wonderful people live in this county. I can't express how grateful I am to the people of Herefordshire for their generosity'.
It was Ron Davies and his assistant Lynda Griffiths who inspired Bulls News to get involved with the campaign. Two more dedicated people to any cause would be difficult to find.
The appeal's aim was to raise £1.5M. This has been achieved but there are a few more events planned to take place before the appeal is ended.
For the third year running Bulls News will be running a car park at the Hay Festival from May 22nd to June 1st. The aim is to make another substantial donation to the Macmillan Renton Appeal.
Appearing at the Hay Festival this year, amidst many others, are Ken Dodd, Jimmy Carter, Jamie Oliver, Jeremy Clarkson, Jools Holland, and Jo Brand.
