Really disappointed says Hereford Captain

Hereford United captain Ben Smith has told BBC H&W that today's draw with Chester felt like a loss.

"First half we went 2-0 up and I felt we were really comfortable. I don't think we started the second half great. They had a succession of corners and put us under a bit of pressure.

"Then their lad scored a great strike and that made everyone a little bit nearvy and then the penalty with the last kick of the game.

"As soon as I saw their players appealing the ref gave it pretty much straight away.

"John McCombe assures us that he had his hand down by his side and if that's the case that to me is pretty harsh. If your hand is down by your side I can't see how you can do it on purpose."

Smith looked forward to the rest of the season.

"This time last season there was nothing to play for and it's boring. This season - this is what we play for, this is what we train for - situations like this.

"We feel we are good enough to get that third automatic promotion place."
