Hereford on track for Automatic Promotion

Despite today's draw with Chester City, Hereford United are still on track for automatic promotion to League One.

As the Bulls News Potential Points Table shows the other clubs in the race haven't gained much ground on Hereford with the exception of Stockport County and, like Hereford, they have a difficult run-in.

Club..(Current Points)..Potential Points

1 Peterborough (86) 98
2 Milton Keynes Dons (85) 103
3 Hereford (75) 93

4 Darlington (74) 86
5 Stockport (72) 90
6 Rochdale (68) 86
7 Wycombe (68) 83
8 Chesterfield (66) 78

9 Brentford (58) 70
10 Bradford (57) 72
11 Morecambe (57) 72
12 Grimsby (55) 70

Realistically it looks as though the third automatic promotion race is going to be between Hereford United and Stockport County although Darlington and Rochdale can't be ruled out just yet.

As regards a play-off spot add Wycombe and possibly Chesterfield to the teams listed above. Whilst in theory the next four clubs could still take part in the play-offs it's looking highly unlikely.

Hereford have to play: Darlington (a), MK Dons (a), Peterborough (h), Wrexham (h), Brentford (a) and Grimsby (h).

Darlington's fixtures are: Hereford (h), Chesterfield (a), Dagenham (h) and Peterborough (a).

Stockport's fixtures are: Mansfield (h), Peterborough (a), MK Dons (h), Barnet (a), Chester (a), Brentford (h).

Stockport play their next game on Wednesday evening which means that they could be level on points with Hereford before next weekend. However that game won't be easy with Mansfield fighting to remain in League Two.
