Winger Simon Johnson was pleased with today's win at Darlington, a club he spent two seasons with before moving to Hereford United.
"A great result - one which we needed after the last couple of games," Johnson told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"We knew it was going to be difficult especially with the pitch. I thought we throughly deserved the win.
"We kept our shape well and killed the game off and with a little of good luck we could have had two or three."
Reminded about Hooper's goal, Johnson said he should have scored earlier!
"It was a great finish. He's a very good player - he's one to try and keep."
Mk Dons are next for Hereford on Tuesday.
"I think we will go there full of confidence after this win," said Johnson.
