The Bulls threw away a two goal lead to end up with just a point in today's 2-2 draw with Chester.
A late, late Kevin Ellison penalty after a disputed handball earned Chester a point after goals from Ben Smith and Gary Hooper gave the Bulls a seemingly comfortable half-time lead.
The 190 Chester fans, with just over 3,000 Bulls in attendance, celebrated - like their bench - like they'd won the cup after the final whistle with boss Simon Davies making a number of gestures to the Merton Stand crowd following the equaliser.
The Bulls move back up to third, by a solitary point from Darlington but with two games in hand.
