Three 'fans' charged after Tranmere game

Three people from Herefordshire have been charged after trouble at or near-by Prenton Park, the home of Tranmere Rovers, last Saturday.

In a statement, reported by the Hereford Times, Merseyside Police confirmed that just three of the seventeen arrested on the day had been charged.

Two were charged with being drunk and entering a football stadium. Another man was charged with the same offence and was also charged with section 39 assault.

Three fixed penalty notices were issued to fans being drunk and disorderly and seven others were cautioned for drink offences.

Three other people who were arrested were ejected from the stadium and no further action was taken.
