Peters may include Liverpool 's Ryan in squad

Shrewsbury manager Gary Peters could include 19 year old Jimmy Ryan in the squad to play Hereford United this afternoon.

According to the Irish press Ryan was finally given clearance to sign for the club after missing out on a month because his temporary loan deal from Liverpool at the start of the season meant he could only play with the Shrews for 93 days.

The deal, however, was made permanent once the transfer window opened and, despite his desire to protect the Liverpool-born Republic of Ireland U-19 international, Peters may choose to throw him in at the deep end in today's game against Hereford.

The midfielder won consecutive FA Youth Cup winner's medals with Liverpool in the last two seasons but demonstrated his class last week with a stunning 30-yard chip for the reserves just to make sure Peters took notice.

"I can't remember us scoring a goal like that in the three years I've been here," said Peters.

As regards Hereford United, this afternoon's game may have come too early for Clint Easton to return from injury and other absentees include Steve Guinan, Luke Webb, Toumani Diagouraga (suspended) and Robbie Threlfall.

It would have been interesting had Threlfall, also from Liverpool, been able to play against Jimmy Ryan.

Meanwhile it appears Bulls News may have mis-led readers about coverage of the this afternoon's game from Edgar Street on BBC Radio Shropshire. Having been told it would be on the internet, enquiries this morning with the station say that is not the case.
