Guy Madjo is understood to be moving to Shrewsbury Town. He has just returned to Crawley from Cheltenham where he has been on-loan.
Crawley manager Steve Evans said he had received a fee from Shrewsbury for the striker after Cheltenham decided not to take up their option on Madjo.
“We are of course disappointed to lose a player with his ability, but we can’t deny what is a tremendous move for Guy Madjo," said Evans.
"The boy had done nothing but impress all those at Cheltenham, but thanks to the extra money made available to Keith Downing they set their requirements higher.
"We had already received a number of inquires from clubs in the Conference and League 2 and after lengthy conversations with Gary Peters at Shrewsbury Town we agreed a fee
"The player was keen to continue his career at Football League level and when he arrived in Shrewsbury today and took a look around their fantastic new stadium and facilities he didn’t wish to hold talks with any other interested clubs who were desperate for his services.”
Hereford United supporters will remember seeing Madjo at the Old Lawn when he came to Forest Green on-loan from Bristol City.
