Willo helps Rovers defeat Tranmere

A goal by former Hereford United player Andy Williams and a second by Rickie Lambert ensured a win for Bristol Rovers against Tranmere this evening at Prenton Park.

Bristol say that they 'dominated the proceedings in a one sided clash' with Tranmere having just three shots on target. No Tranmere player was booked.

The match was watched by 5887. Last Saturday, when Hereford United were the visitors for the FA Cup game, the gate was 6909 with, according to Tranmere, 1643 from Hereford.

A summary of the game, from Tranmere site White Review, gave a dim view of the game for Tranmere supporters: "Tranmere's third successive league defeat resulted in a chorus of boo's at the final whistle and fans shouting "we're sh*t and we know we are" throughout the game just about sums up the evening. Andy Williams and Rickie Lambert provided the goals for the pirates. Tranmere were clueless throughout."
