Turner praises Young Players

Graham Turner has told BBC Hereford and Worcester that he is pleased with how well young players have done for the club so far this season.

Hereford United have around one third of their squad aged 20 or less.

"When you put them in there you're not quite sure whether they are going to do it or not, whether they are going to handle that extra little bit extra pressure of playing in front of a bigger crowd where the stakes are higher," said Turner.

"In the case of the loan players that come, they might be playing in Liverpool reserves. There isn't the same emphasis on getting results."

Meanwhile one of the older players at Hereford, Steve Guinan, will be 32 on Christmas Eve and he has told the Western Daily Press that he would like to get a goal aganst Morecambe tomorrow to celebrate.

"It's nice to score at any time but especially on your birthday. Hopefully, I will start banging them in again soon.

"I think everyone in the team has been on the scoresheet. We are getting goals from every position and I would much rather that than relying on someone to score 25 goals."
