Luke Webb, who scored both Hereford United goals this afternoon, won the praise of coach John Trewick in his post match interview.
Webb, pictured pre-season, came in for Lionel Ainsworth who has a groin strain.
Trewick told BBC Hereford and Worcester why Ainsworth wasn't even on the bench.
"We trained yesterday and half way through the session he (Ainsworth) eased out because he felt the abducter just in the groin area. He doesn't feel it's too bad himself. Wayne Jones has had a look at him and he might be fit for next weekend.
"But what it does is gives someone else an opportunity.
"Luke's got many many assets. Different to Lionel but I think you've seen a good performance from Webb today.
"He gets in some great goal scoring areas. He's capable of getting into those positions and he's capable of finishing. I'm very pleased for him."
Webb was also interviewed by BBC H&W.
"I think without Lionel we had to pass the ball a bit more because I don't have that electrifying pace but I thought we did alright today.
"We were really a team unit today and it showed."
