Turner pleased to have two local derbies

Graham Turner has told BBC Hereford and Worcester that he is pleased to have two local derbies over the Easter weekend.

He says it like going back to the old days when local derbies used to feature over most holiday periods however he noted police concerns.

"I understand the Police concerns about having local teams on Bank Holidays; the cost of policing escalates.

"I can understand their desire to have teams away from the area but, as it falls, we've got two decent games."

He has also spoken about the recent lack of goals.

"Given what we can get forward from midfield, and the quality of our wide players, as well as the strikers [it has been frustrating].

"We've got one or two defenders who can head the ball - you would expect to score more from set pieces than we have done, so that's been a disappointing aspect of our play.

"But sometimes it happens during the course of the season."

Meanwhile, despite earlier reports that Steve Jennings was unlikely to feature this weekend, the Tranmere midfielder on loan at Edgar Street trained with the squad today and according to the Worcester News came through the session 'okay'.

Finally Swindon manager Paul Sturrock has told hid official website that Hereford will be a difficult place to go this weekend.

"If we don't go there with the kind of commitment we have shown in recent games then we could be in trouble. A lot of people just think you can go to the lesser sides and get a result - but it doesn't happen like that. Hereford are a decent side.

"I understand the visiting support at Hereford this weekend will be well in excess of 1,500. Your support made a big difference to the team in the last home game with Shrewsbury and hopefully we can put on a performance for you at Edgar Street on Saturday."
