In one of the more surprising transfers of the day, Daryl Clare returned to Conference football for the third time signing for Crawley Town for an undisclosed sum - reported by the Crawley Town official website as a club record.
Clare, 27, has won the Conference with Boston and Chester, scoring 73 goals in just over 100 Conference appearances across three seasons. He rejoined Boston from Chester at the start of last season but failed to make an impact on League Two, scoring just three goals last season and only featuring once as a sub this season.
Crawley Town were taken over by the S.A. Group in July and have made swift moves to change to full-time status. The signing of Clare is an ominous sign of the financial strength now at the Club's disposal, and he will make his debut in Monday's game against Aldershot, live on Sky
