Turner set for Grant appeal
Hereford United boss Graham Turner will appeal over striker John Grant's red card at Yeovil Town last Saturday.
The Bulls manager felt that Grant was provoked into his sending-off, which are likely to earn him a three match ban unless the Football Association overturns to referee's decision. However, Turner will not appeal to rescind Tony James' red card for a late tackle in added time.
Turner reviewed video evidence and told the Hereford Times: "Danny (Williams) was being kicked in the legs by one player and in the back by another and, although Grant did go flying in, he did no more than others who remained on the pitch."
If the appeal is unsuccessful, both will be banned for the trip to Scarborough on March 15th but are both likely to start on Saturday when United host bottom-of-the-table Kettering Town.
Kettering have won just twice on their away trips this season, and Hereford could start Matt Clarke at right back after he finished his recovery from a knee operation. The last match in the process came on Tuesday night, when he played eighty minutes against Telford United in a friendly match. Hereford won 4-2, with Jay Lovett scoring one and young attacker Justin Rowe netting a hatrick.
