Tate Campbell celebrating a goal in front of the Meadow End for Hereford
Tate Campbell has said former ex-Bull Sammy Robinson convinced him to join Buxton as the pair turned down deals to stay at Edgar Street.
Both players opted for a move to the Derbyshire-based National League North side who finished 7th in the league after a switch to full-time last summer.
Now, in his first interview since joining the Bucks, former Birmingham City player Campbell - who made 45 appearances for Hereford last season - said it was his former teammate who persuaded him to sign.
When asked if Robinson swayed his decision, 22-year-old Campbell said: "Yeah, correct. He's done nothing but call me since he signed so he's really convinced me to join and be part of the project with the gaffer and the team."
On what attracted him to Buxton, he said the first thing was the style of play. He said he felt like he could bring something to the team so it was a "no-brainer".
Not only are Campbell and Robinson now on the books, but the club - which reached the play-offs last season - have signed 23-year-old centre-back George Ward who was Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Year at Leamington. They also retained 10 players from last season's squad.
