Radcliffe have signed central midfielder Dan Gardner, who most recently helped Oldham Athletic to be promoted back to the Football League. The club says the 35-year-old boasts experience, eagerness and a nonchalant persona in the centre of the park, having started his career with Scottish giants Celtic before spells at Crewe Alexandra, Droylsden, FC Halifax Town and Chesterfield.
Gardner’s three-year stint with the Spirites included time out on loan at Prenton Park with Tranmere Rovers, and local neighbours Bury shortly after. He then went on to play for Oldham Athletic, Wigan Athletic and Doncaster Rovers.
Chorley have re-signed 22-year-old versatile defender Sam Bird after making 11 appearances last season. Possessing a lethal long-throw, Birdy has previously played at Fleetwood Town, Stockport County, Stirling Albion and Widnes.
Former Newcastle United youngster Josh Scott has signed for Darlington, where he met current Quakers boss Terry Mitchell. The 22-year-old left-back has since made 44 appearances and scored four goals for Queen's Park in the Scottish Championship, including being part of the team that knocked Rangers out in the Scottish Cup fifth round.
Leamington boss Paul Holleran has ended an extensive search for a new number 1 after Callum Hawkins signed a three-year deal at Curzon Ashton as he captured Eddie Brearey.
Having just turned 21 earlier this month, Eddie was with Oxford United from the age of 9, progressing through their Academy and earning his first professional contract. He arrives at Leamington with over 100 appearances to his name from loan spells at different levels of the Non League pyramid with the likes of St Ives Town, Hungerford Town, Thame United, Evesham United and Beaconsfield Town.
National League North newcomers AFC Fylde have lost one of their top players as winger Tyler Roberts moves to National League Tamworth. The 21-year-old, who had a spell on loan at League Two Doncaster Rovers before leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he had come through the youth system, for AFC Fylde.
Fylde said there was clause in Roberts' contract that meant following their relegation, he could move on.
