Southport's second summer signing is 27-year-old centre back Luke Tabone from Cymru Premier side Haverfordwest County.

Manager Neil Danns has made the 6ft 4in defender his second new summer addition, penning a one-year deal with an extra year option in the club’s favour. The 27-year old has featured for the Maltese National Team and came through the youth systems of Nadur Youngsters, on the island of Gozo in Malta, and Burnley.

Spennymoor Town have signed "talented" young midfielder Alfie Doherty following his departure from Whitby Town. The 21-year-old prospect originally came through the ranks at Middlesbrough, and the club described him as a hard-working and athletic player, capable of operating in a number of positions across midfield and "will add extra energy to the Moors engine room".

Doherty gained first senior experience through loan spells at Markse United and Hebburn Town, while he also spent time on loan at Blyth Spartans last season.

Former King's Lynn Town boss Adam Lakeland has been named as Halifax Town's new manager. He joins The Shaymen following a successful spell at King’s Lynn Town where he secured survival in his first season before securing a play-off finish last time out, though left earlier this summer in the midst of the takeover.

He previously had a lengthy spell in charge of Blackburn Rovers Women, before joining Curzon Ashton as first team coach, then Northwich Victoria as manager, Farsley Celtic and a return to Curzon.
