Hereford Women's Game On Sunday Is Off

Hereford Women’s match against Bromsgrove Sporting this Sunday has been cancelled as Bromsgrove are unable to field a team.

Hereford will be awarded the points.

This means they are just one win away from clinching the title and promotion.

Next match, 11th May, is away to Droitwich Spa lfc  development side who currently sit bottom of the table on 8 points having one just won two games and drawn two.

Apart from the long term injuries of Sharland and Brown, a full squad should be available for selection.

Hereford Women Could Win League Title On Sunday

Hereford Women could win the League next Sunday but only if results go the right way.

That means they need to win against Bromsgrove and hope second placed Kingfisher are defeated by Inkberrow Eagles.

If that doesn't happen then they have two games the following Sunday against Droitwich which are set to take place at Edgar Street.

"They've had a fantastic season, the FA Cup run was brilliant, and they won the HFA County Cup at Edgar Street," said Hereford chairman Chris Ammonds.

"It will be great to see them planning to move to the next level."

Currently Hereford top the league table with 67 points from 24 games.

Kingfisher are second with 60 points from 24 games.

Hereford FC Staying Part-Time Next Season Said Chairman

Speaking to BBC Hereford and Worcester this morning Hereford FC chairman Chris Ammonds has confirmed that the club will stay part-time next season.

But the new sponsorship deal with MandM may help the road to full-time in due course.

"We've got to try and look to move the club forward," said Ammonds.

"Clearly we're part-time at the moment, Tuesday nights and Thursday nights, and the reality is we are probably going to remain part-time next season just because of timescales and things.

"Every sponsorship deal like this or every new source of income helps us in our planning to try and improve and try and move forward.

"We've done a lot of work to try and access how much more it might cost us to in terms of the football side of the club to go hybrid.

"You are looking at costs upwards of six figures to try and move from where we are now to that. We've got to try and address that gap.

"The last thing we want to do is commit to doing it and then realise it was too early so we have got to be a little bit careful with it.

"Certainly every new sponsorship and every new income stream helps with our planning and we are determined to try and move the club forward."

New Hereford Shirts Arriving Soon

MandM Kit From 2002

New kit for Hereford FC will be arriving soon according to Mike Tomkins who is the chairman of MandM.

"We've got excellent sources both onshore and offshore," Tomkins told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"The kit is being made by a major manufacturer.

"We're excited by that as well.

"I think the first shipments of the new shirts should arrive In May."

Hereford Chairman Pleased With MandM Deal

Hereford FC chairman Chris Ammonds has been talking to BBC Hereford and Worcester about the five year sponsorship deal with MandM announced yesterday.

"It's a really big deal for us," said Ammonds.

"There is a financial element to it which is very helpful and it gives us security over the five years which demonstrates MandM's commitment to the club.

"But it also helps us in terms of the retail stock that we can supply, the Hereford FC branded clothing and leisureware we sell in the shop.

"The shop has had a fantastic couple of years off the back of the improvements on the field and we are hoping that this deal with MandM will continue to see that improvement."

MandM have a new office across from Edgar Street in the Old Market retail area.

"It's not that far away.

"We get brilliant support from local businesses community and adding MandM to our group of fantastic sponsors is really good.

"Clearly there is a link back to the what I sometimes refer to as the good old days of the 90s and early 2000s when MandM Direct were kit suppliers to Hereford United. It's a really nice historic link.

"Those local links for a club like us wich is geographically challenged in terms of the football world in terms of where we are located so the support from the local community and the local business community is fantastic.

"We're really looking forward to seeing how this relationship developes over the course of the next five years.

"There's a lot with MandM's retail expertise they can help us with.

"I think when you are with a slightly bigger supplier or a more national supplier you can't always get hold of, the fans love to see the training tops and the training gear the players wear and we're not always able to source that and buy in small enough quantities to sell in the shop.

"With the MandM deal we will be able to look at bringing in training gear, bringing in tracksuits the players wear to travel in, we may be able to put those in the club shop for the supporters to look at.

"One of the big things we've always had an issue with is trying to get toddlers and baby clothing that mirrors replica kit, hopefully through this MandM deal they are pretty confident they can start to produce this sort of stuff.

"We've always wanted to do it but it's not been straight forward because of the sort of quantities you have to buy to make it worthwhile.

"Hopefully with MandM we will be able to look at that market.

"I know there are plenty of parents who have already asked that question which is great."

MandM To Partner Hereford FC

Hereford FC Picture

Locally based fashion and sportswear company MandM has agreed a five year partnership deal with Hereford FC.

Edgar Street will now be known as the MandM Edgar Street Stadium.

And the company will become the club's kit supplier.

This from Hereford FC:

Mike Tomkins, Chairman of MandM, commented: “As a company rooted in Herefordshire, we are incredibly proud to partner with Hereford FC and play a role in supporting the club and its loyal fanbase. Football is a powerful force in bringing people together, and we see this sponsorship as a way to give back to the local community that has supported MandM for so many years.”

Hereford FC Chairman, Chris Ammonds, added: “We are very excited to have agreed this deal with MandM – whose Head Office is less than 100 metres from our home – and cannot wait to start working with them.

“As a hugely successful local business, MandM is a perfect partner for us and this deal recreates a historic link to football at Edgar Street, with ‘MandM Sports’ having been the kit supplier to Hereford United under Graham Turner’s tenure back in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

“MandM will be supplying the club’s new home and away strips, as well as all the training and travel clothing the players will wear. MandM will also be able to use their retail expertise to help us improve the types of product we are able to offer supporters.

“What is particularly pleasing about this deal is that not only will we be able to sell replica playing shirts in the club shop, but the use of a local company will now allow us to stock more branded Hereford FC training and leisurewear than ever before.

“I’d like to thank Mike and his team at MandM, for the passion and drive they have shown to make this deal happen and also the club’s General Manager, Jamie Griffiths, and Commercial Director, George Webb, for all their hard work on this over several months.

“This really is an important deal for our football club and I’m very much looking forward to seeing how our relationship with MandM develops over the next few years.”

End Of Season Comments From Hereford Players

A number of Hereford players have commented following the end of the season.

Yusifu Ceesay: Just want to say a massive thank you to our fans for following us all season the support doesn’t go unnoticed, gutted we couldn’t make the playoffs its going to hurt for a bit but thats part of the game just have to learn from this experience.

Lawson D'Ath: Now that it’s sunk in a bit, although it still hurts, would just like to say thank you to all the bulls fans, the support you’ve given us this season has been outstanding and you deserved us making the playoffs and more tbh. I’m sorry we couldn’t make that happen.

Dylan Mitchell:  Massive thank you to everyone at Hereford FC especially the fans for your continued support week in week out. Loved my time at this special club.

Sammy Robinson: Not the ending we all hoped for, but what a ride it’s been. You fans are incredible and we have appreciated you all season and you all deserved much more than how it ended. Thank you for all the fans who voted me player of the season. All the glory goes to god

Tate Campbell: A bitterly disappointing end to the season yesterday, something that’s going to take a while to process. Set goals to take the club where it had not yet been and ultimately we fell short in doing so. I personally would like to say a massive thank you for the support shown to the group this season, incredible numbers from day 1. Through our best moments and our worst, the backing never changed. A season full of learning for me. Coming off several seasons dealing with injury, playing over 40 games is not something I’ve taken for granted. Being able to express myself and show what I’m about on the pitch has been good for me and I hope you have been able to see the effort put in throughout the season. The club will get to where it belongs, I have no doubts on that.

Lewis Hudson: Missed out by the smallest of margins , but a huge effort by everyone at the club. A proud moment in my career to captain a club like and to play in every game this season is a special feeling.

Remaye Campbell: Absolutely gutted to fall short but that’s football sometimes. Since the day I walked through the door the support has been nothing less than unbelievable and it was that again today

Omari Sterling-James: The clubs on the right path with a good manager who does the right things, the league position doesn’t reflect the fact we was 90 mins away from play offs with it in our own hands which makes today so bitter. The future is bright.

Jaiden White: Thank you for your incredible support from the day I walked in the door, through the highs and lows the support you guys showed myself and the team has been immense and always remained the same. Although disappointing that we just fell short of the play-offs, I can’t express how grateful I am for all the support and for giving me the confidence to go out and play with a smile on my face, from hearing my name in the crowd and pushing me on thanks Hereford. UTB.

Theo Richardson: It's been my absolute pleasure to play for Hereford. I've loved every second since arriving.

Hereford Players After The Last Game Of The Season

A selection of pictures of some of the Hereford players after the last game of the season and at the awards.

After Ninety Eight Minutes

Some pictures from after the end of yesterday's game between Hereford and Scunthorpe. Yes Scunthorpe won the game but the support for Hereford was tremendous.

Caddis - We're Still A Club In Recovery Mode

After losing out on a play-off position, Hereford manager Paul Caddis admitted he was devastated.

"I'm devastated I really am," he said.

"I'm trying to cover that up with pride.

"I'm extremely proud to stand here as manager of this football club and go so near.

"But I'm genuinely gutted, gutted for the players, gutted for the supporters.

"Overall emotion I'm devastated because we couldn't quite make it.

"We just needed that goal to try lift us but Scunny have kept a lot of clean sheets so we knew it would be a difficult game.

"The players couldn't have given us any more."

Caddis dropped Jaiden White and included Sammy Robinson in his starting eleven.

"Jaiden came off against Kidderminster, couldn't complete training on Thursday.

"We were disappointed with that. I spoke with him before the game and he said he couldn't quite give us 100%.

"We wanted to get Sammy back in with his energy.

"I know people were probably hoping we would put four strikers on the pitch from the off, but it was never going to be like that.

"We did change it and they had a good go but we're bitterly disappointed.

"I thought Kyle Howkins was outstanding. To be brutally honest I don't know how he hasn't walked away with any awards and that's not me criticising the ones who got them. They all deserved them. He's an unsung hero."

Although it ended up being Hereford's best season since the club was reformed Caddis pointed out that next season was going to be tougher.

"Next season is going to be even tougher with more full time teams. We're still a club in recovery mode."
