Caddis - We're Still A Club In Recovery Mode

After losing out on a play-off position, Hereford manager Paul Caddis admitted he was devastated.

"I'm devastated I really am," he said.

"I'm trying to cover that up with pride.

"I'm extremely proud to stand here as manager of this football club and go so near.

"But I'm genuinely gutted, gutted for the players, gutted for the supporters.

"Overall emotion I'm devastated because we couldn't quite make it.

"We just needed that goal to try lift us but Scunny have kept a lot of clean sheets so we knew it would be a difficult game.

"The players couldn't have given us any more."

Caddis dropped Jaiden White and included Sammy Robinson in his starting eleven.

"Jaiden came off against Kidderminster, couldn't complete training on Thursday.

"We were disappointed with that. I spoke with him before the game and he said he couldn't quite give us 100%.

"We wanted to get Sammy back in with his energy.

"I know people were probably hoping we would put four strikers on the pitch from the off, but it was never going to be like that.

"We did change it and they had a good go but we're bitterly disappointed.

"I thought Kyle Howkins was outstanding. To be brutally honest I don't know how he hasn't walked away with any awards and that's not me criticising the ones who got them. They all deserved them. He's an unsung hero."

Although it ended up being Hereford's best season since the club was reformed Caddis pointed out that next season was going to be tougher.

"Next season is going to be even tougher with more full time teams. We're still a club in recovery mode."
