National League North side Chester have banned another 25 fans over the ugly scenes which marred the play-off semi-final against Brackley Town.

The club have already been slapped with a £5,000 FA fine and had banned eight fans.

Police, who opened an investigation into the disorder, said a large number of Chester supporters entered the pitch, attempting to gain access to the away supporters' stand and a number of missiles were thrown towards the Brackley Town fans and onto the pitch.

Two fans have been charged so far and further prosecutions are pending, the club said.

Chester have been working closely with the police to ensure those involved were identified and held to account for their actions, a spokesperson said.

"The club bans prevent these individuals from entering the Deva Stadium and information will be shared with other clubs to stop them attending away fixtures," they added.

"Anti-social or criminal behaviour of any sort will not be tolerated at Chester Football Club. Individuals who behave in this manner put players, officials and supporters at risk, tarnish our reputation, and damage the club financially.

"We are committed to making sure the Deva Stadium remains a safe, welcoming environment on match days, and expect all supporters to behave responsibly."

After being charged and fined by the FA, the club said it's costing tens of thousands of pounds for extra policing and repairs - that then impacts the playing budget.
