Forest Green Rovers have agreed a fee for former Hereford midfielder Tate Campbell, subject to a medical.Tate Campbell is set to join Forest Green Rovers
Campbell joined Hereford in August 2024 after being released by Birmingham City, hoping to find his love for football again. He went on to make 45 appearances, scoring six goals, before following Sammy Robinson to full-time Buxton last summer.
But after 18 months in National League North, he looks set to make the step up to the National League to join Robbie Savage's Forest Green Rovers.
Savage, as reported by Gloucestershire Live, said: "A fee has been agreed with Buxton, subject to a medical, hopefully that can be passed.
“Buxton have been brilliant in negotiations. Peter Band has seen him numerous times for us as our Northern scout, and he said to go for him.
“I tried to sign Tate for Macclesfield before he went to Buxton, obviously, he’s here, the fees have been agreed, the paperwork done, hopefully he’ll be a Forest Green player on Wednesday or Thursday.
“Tate is a defensive midfielder who protects the back four, he’s 23 years old; if he passes his medical, he becomes a Forest Green Rovers player.”
Forest Green currently lie fourth in the National League.
