After this afternoon's 1-0 victory over Leamington in the FA Trophy, Hereford manager Josh Gowling spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"Credit to Leamington, they are a difficult side," said Gowling.
"You can see why they've got the 5th best away record in the League.
"The way they played, the game they played, low balls into the box, they worked hard credit to them. We had to weather that storm.
"A bit of quality from Cammy was the difference.
"We started well, the goal probably a little bit killed the momentum because he scored so early.
"We should have had a bit more composure on the ball."
Hereford have now gone eight games undefeated.
"Kennedy has come back in, he's been out for a while. We had to throw him straight back in but he's been excellent today.
"For me our defence starts with our two wide men. Finn and Toe were excellent. Their workrate they put in to stop their full backs was excellent."
Gowling gave a start to new signing striker Joey Butlin.
"The way we play we need someone who can hold the ball up and link play and I thought he was excellent.
"Coming into this level from two leagues below and putting a 90 minute shift in, holding it up, chasing lost causes and bringing the lads into play, he was excellent and for me he was my man of the match today."
Hereford had to do defending especially late in the game to hold onto their one goal advantage.
"The reason we are eight games undefeated is the honesty of the lads. They've got honesty and that togetherness. They want to work for each other and they showed today against a good side with some big players who score goals just like that."
Asked if he was excited by being in the last eight of the Trophy, does Gowling look forward to that?
"We just look at each game as it comes. There might be a game on Tuesday, there might not I don't know. We're just looking to prepare for Tuesday. That's all we can do.
"I think the most succesful teams this season will be the ones that adapt to the conditions. That's what we've got to do. We've got to be mentally strong."
Has the contract situation been resolved?
"I've left! My contract is dodgy so I've gone!
"We sat down with the lads. Obviously there were a few issues regarding a few things. We were honest with the lads, we are always honest with the lads, that's the main thing.
"Some clauses were brought to our attention that we didn't know about and we sat all the lads down and spoke about it. The lads were fine with it, signed all their contracts and there's no issue."
With the result of the vote in the National North several weeks away, how does that affect transfers.
"It's difficult because you are trying to get players in and you don't know whether the League is going to start or not.
"The League needs to come out and make a decision. If the League wants to continue for 28 days they need to put a statement saying they want everyone to keep on playing, if they don't there will be repercussions so they need to make a clear stand on the subject rather than letting the clubs decide what's going on because it's becoming a bit of a farce."
