New signing Joey Butlin played his first game for Hereford this afternoon in the FA Trophy against Leamington. The Bulls won 1-0 and afterwards Butlin spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"Brilliant, good game, nice battle," said Butlin.
"I've been here for about two weeks training with the team.
"I signed about two weeks ago then the season got suspended.
"I do what I do, work hard."
Butlin was asked about the approach from Hereford.
"One of the coaches at Chasetown is friends with the gaffer and I think it came about that way."
As reported on BN earlier Butlin played at Edgar Street for Walsall Wood five seasons ago.
"Yes, years ago!"
Butlin said he wasn't worried about the step up in leagues.
"Go out there and have a battle. I like to go out and have a battle."
Asked about Edgar Street so far he said it was brilliant.
"The pitch is a little bit faster."
When did you last play?
"I think it was September, a long time ago, I'm going to feel it tomorrow.
"Danny Carey-Bertram is a friend, he gives me a good session every now and then."
If games continue Butlin should soon make his debut in the National North.
"Hopefully the season will get back on, sort out what they've got to sort out and get back to football."
