John Mills After His Second Goal Of The Match |
Hereford striker John Mills added to his talley with two goals this afternoon at Kempston. Afterwards he talked to BBC Hereford and Worcester.
To start with he spoke about Hereford's third goal, a penalty.
"I took a touch a little bit too far and luckily the defender has dived in and I went to the floor quite quick and he's caught my trailing leg," said Mills.
"It's up to the referee if he wants to give them and he did and I'll step up and score."
Then his first goal, another penalty.
"I can't remember it, who was it? Oh yes Bowen.
"It was a good run from Bowen he's drove at the right back and the referee had no choice. He took him down."
Mills was asked about how many variations he had got when taking penalties.
"Some clubs do watch the videos of the penalties so if I kept putting it the same way people would start knowing. So it's conscious effort to keep varying them."
Conditions were difficult today.
"It wasn't nice at times but it was a bit bitty first half, they would have the ball, we would have the ball.
"Second half I thought the game opened up a lot more and we started penetrating them in behind and that made the difference. Keyon running down the one side and Preeny down the other. We started getting crosses in.
"In the end we tired them out and second half it could have been even more, five or six.
"We knew we should win being a league higher but it was important we went about things the right way and a clean sheet. It was a comfortable victory for us."
