Really Good Second Half Display Said Beadle

Peter Beadle
Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle made seven changes to the starting eleven this evening for the Midland League Cup tie against Alvechurch and felt the game had left him with potential selection problems for Saturday's Vase game.

"It was a really good second half display," Beadle told the local press.

"It was a great opportunity for us to get all the ones that haven't played recently and haven't had many minutes to get them on the pitch and get them playing.

"I think it took them 45 minutes to warm up and get going but I thought second half they were excellent."

Beadle gave James Pilling his home debut.

"James has got great qualities.

"I chased him in the summer a little bit and I'm delighted to have him on board. He brings good experience as well and he's a good size and he can play. We want good players at the football club and he's another good player.

"He's taken his goal fantastically well tonight and I thought his performance was really good all around as well.

"Up until half time I though the players were sloppy, a little bit impatient. Maybe that was because they were trying a bit too hard to impress.

"I said to them at half time it was an opportunity to put themselves in the shop window, to put them in my thoughts, they are all in my thoughts anyway but to stamp their mark on it.

"The lads in the eleven are doing okay but we're only as good as our last game which was a draw.

Tonight's Squad After Their Victory
"The ones that have come in tonight have now given me food for thought for Saturday.

"It was an ideal chance to rest one or two as well because we've had a lot of games.

"So it's been a massive win, win for us tonight."

Keith Hall asked Beadle if the victory was a 'psychological advantage' over Alvechurch.

"No, not at all.

"They are a good side, they're organised, they've been together a number of years now, they know one anothers games, they've had as many changes as we've had tonight.

"You can't read anything into it because every game we play against them is going to be a different one."

Beadle was also asked about the impact the victory would have on Hartley Wintney.

"If they were here I'm sure second half they would have gone we've got a game on our hands.

"But like I said it's a different game and it's a one off and there's a lot riding on it.

"Camberley are unknown to us but we'll do our homework if we get through on Saturday.

"We've got a home draw in the next round if we get through which is another great bonus for us.

"But we've got a game to play first, they are top of their league bur when you're in the last eight or sixteen it's never going to be easy.

"They'll know we're a good side on our day and we know they're a good side on their day so it will be who turns up and wants it more on the day."
