Hereford 2-0 Quorn

Manager Peter Beadle kept the same starting line up from Tuesday night's win against Continental Star. Captain Joel Edwards lost the toss and so Hereford started for the first time this season by attacking the Meadow End first.

Quorn's Jimmy Brooks Choose Which End To Start
Hereford dominated from the start with some good passing and they created a few chances in the opening stages. Willetts connected with a corner from Page but his header was saved by the Quorn keeper then Mills came close but his shot went wide of the post.

Hereford nearly took the lead on 17 minutes when Edwards' cross was fumbled by the Quorn keeper but he was able to recover. Not long after Quorn felt aggrieved when they thought that Rivers had brought down the Quorn striker but the referee played on. Hereford continued to push for an opener but they were being frustrated by Quorn's defensive tactics. Hereford's best chance of the first half came on 34 minutes when good link up play between Haysham and Mills saw Mill through on goal only for the keeper to blocked the shot with a part of his body.

Another talking point of the half occurred on the 36th minute when a Quorn defender make a late challenge on Page. He had made some late and dangerous challenges before this but the referee only decided to show him a yellow card. Quorn's reaction was to substitute the player immediately.

And Luke Hammond Receives A Yellow Card
Hereford had two final chances before the end of the half but were unable to go in at half time in front. Mill was able to get a shot away but it went wide before Page cut inside beating the defender only for it to be saved by the keeper.

Half Time: Hereford 0-0 Quorn

Hereford started the second half where they left off by pressing Quorn and it only took two minutes for the deadlock to be broken. Birch played a ball in to Page, who then hit a shot that beat the keeper and ended up in the corner of the net.

Adam Page Beats The Keeper To Score Hereford's First Of The Game
Hereford kept the pressure on and only a few minutes later Mills went one on one with keeper but the keeper was able to save his shot.

Quorn started to get back in to the game but Hereford continued to threaten. In the 63rd minute Haysham found some space just outside the box but his effort went wide. Mills continued to threaten the Quorn goal, firstly on the 65th minute when his left foot shot went narrowly over then two minutes later he got past a defender before his shot when just over the bar. Hereford continued to threaten in the closing stages of the game. Page had a shot saved on 74 minutes before a minute later Edwards played a ball across the face of goal only to find nobody to finish it off.

As the game drew to an end Hereford pushed for a second and finally with 5 minutes remaining Haysham passed a ball across the goals and Page was able to get on the end of it to put in the back of the net with some assistance of the post.
