Beadle Used To Be A Bee

Peter Beadle ended his full time playing career at Barnet under their new boss Martin Allen.

Back in 2003 as a 31 year old striker, with over £1million of transfer fees during his career, Beadle netted five times in 15 games for the Bees on a short term deal during Allen's first stint in charge of the club.

Allen is now in his fourth spell with the Bees, returning on Wednesday on a deal until next summer having been out of work for nearly six month. He told the press he had only been contacted about a return on Wednesday morning, but was already focused on Saturday's game:

"All focus is on Saturday's game. Saturday only, that's it. Same as always. Players have got to put in a good performance. As we stand now there are 24 points available. There ain't no targets, just Saturday's game."

Allen will continue to work the the Bees' Dutch coaches, with his arrival coinciding with four straight losses in which the side have scored only one goal. The run has coincided with top scorer Jake Hyde being ruled out for several weeks through injury.

Allen also spoke to the Non-League Paper about Beadle: “Peter is a great guy, he’s had a good career and I’m delighted he’s got that job. He deserves a break. He’s worked his nuts off over the years to get an opportunity. He’s a real character, a leader and he’s got great football knowledge.”
