Jenkins To Combine Hereford And Monmouth Roles

Steve Jenkins will continue with his role at Monmouth FC despite being appointed as Peter Beadle's assistant at Hereford United yesterday.

"Steve has been given a great opportunity to help out Peter Beadle and Hereford United until the end of the season as assistant manager, a role he thoroughly deserves and in which we have no doubt he will excel," said Monmouth Chairman Lee Robson.

"We wish them both good luck.

"Steve will continue to coach our first team and, with his assistants, select the team for our ten remaining matches. As far as we’re concerned its business as usual with the great team we have on and off the pitch."

Meanwhile Peter Beadle has said his aim is to rebuild the confidence of the squad.

"It's down to myself to take over temporarily until the club decides on another route," said Beadle as reported by the Western Daily Press.

"The players have certainly got it in them, but one thing I will try to impress upon them is to go out and perform the best they can.

"I understand why the youth players have been used sparingly up to now, but I know they are there and, if I feel they are capable, I'll put them in."

Beadle is pleased to have Steve Jenkins at his side.

"I trust Steve, he was fantastic with the young lads when he came in," added Beadle.
