News Round-Up


Wrexham defender Stephen Wright has seen his appeal against his red card received in Sunday's match with Barnet reduce the ban by one match. Wright was hit by Edgar Davids' elbow and was shocked to be sent off. Forest Green boss Dave Hockaday says he will not walk away from the club despite a run of six losses in seven games. The former Watford coach believes he still has the backing of chairman Dale Vince despite supporters calling for a change.

Former Bull Nick Chadwick has joined Tamworth on loan until January. The Plymouth forward, 30, hasn't played for the Pilgrims this season after falling out of favour at Home Park. Tamworth have also signed young Birmingham defender Ryan Higgins on a months loan. The 19 year old, who is yet to make his senior debut, played for free for the cash strapped Blues last season in a bid to continue his career after being released by Everton.

Nuneaton have extended the loan of midfielder Phil Trainer to Worcester for a second month. Former Bulls loanee Dan Preston is to join Barrow on loan from Telford for an initial month. Halifax defender Keith Briggs has been named as the new player/manager of Conf North side Stalybridge. The 31 year old was combining his role with the Shaymen with coaching youth football. Striker Alex Johnson has also left the Shay after agreeing to join loan side Guiseley on a permanent deal.

Stalybridge have revealed that their caretaker boss over the past week has been Paul Scholes. The former England man agreed to coach the side, where his son plays for the u15 side, over the past week on the proviso that no-one alerted the press. Word only broke this morning after his final training session. Tamworth have signed midfielder Lee Hildreth on non-contract terms. The 24 year old was a trainee with Coventry before joining the Army and serving in Afghanistan.

Hyde have signed Oldham defender Glenn Belezika on loan for an initial month. The 18 year old spent a month at Salisbury earlier in the season.
