I Think We Deserved It - Keyte

Hereford United chairman David Keyte was pleased with the win against Shrewsbury Town this afternoon but disappointed with the crowd.

"Throughly enjoyable, good atmosphere, good game, good Cup-tie," Keyte told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"Got a bit hairy when we sat back on a two nil lead.

"I think we deserved it in the end.

"We felt they were having a bit of a struggle this season and sometimes it's that mentality thing.

"When they came down here last season in the League - a very professional 2-0 win, today they are a struggling side in League One."

The money from the win will be warmly welcomed at Edgar Street.

"We've got a hole to get out of in terms of finances.

"A bit disappointed with the crowd at 3200 but I think the 2300 Hereford supporters will throughly enjoyed their day. We hope they will come out again on Tuesday for the Luton match.

"The cup money drops straight into the bucket.

"We wait on the draw tomorrow, another home game here on December 1st which will replace the Telford game.

"From one match in six weeks we've suddenly been given a bit of a life-line.

"We've got to enjoy today, we haven't had too many highs in the two and a bit years but we'll enjoy this tonight."

Keyte had praise for striker Ryan Bowman

Chris Weale Beaten By Ryan Bowman's Penalty
"I thought he was fantastic today, certainly not out of his depth against League One defenders.

"We thought he could well be the find of the season.

"I think that's eight goals now.

"He's got something about him, he's a worker and I think I can only remember one header he failed to get against League One defenders, if that's what they are."

As for the next round?

"We'll wait for the cup draw tomorrow and hope we get Twidllewinks United at home  - ninety minutes away from a third round draw.
