This afternoon Richard O'Kelly will take charge of his first home game since being appointed manager of Hereford United just under two weeks ago.
During his time at Edgar Street as coach under Graham Turner, O'Kelly was the catalyst in turning around the fortunes of the Bulls from a bottom half of the table Conference club to a club challenging for promotion to League Two.
And no supporter will ever forget that 103 goal 2003/04 season with a 9-0 win at Dagenham and a 7-1 home win against Halifax.
Fast-forward eight and three quarter seasons and O'Kelly is back. He probably won't have quite enough time this season to influence the way the Bulls play to the degree he did in the past. But at Morecambe last Saturday there were signs that he already made a few changes.
He's looking forward to this afternoon's game against high-flying Southend.
"It’s always nice to play in front of your home crowd and hopefully the players will perform like they did in the first-half at Morecambe and Macclesfield," said O’Kelly.
"In every game you are looking to get three points but if you can’t it’s important to come out with something. It would be nice if there was a big crowd there to cheer us on."
No better afternoon to get to Edgar Street and support the new manager and his team.
