The Bulls travel to Moss Rose tomorrow night to take on Macclesfield Town in a crunch relegation battle.
The Bulls are travelling to one of their bogey sides from recent seasons. It is six games since the Bulls recorded a win against the Silkmen, a run started when Edgar Street was the venue for Gary Simpson's first match in charge. Two years ago, to the day, he took the reins after Keith Alexander's death and led the side to a 2-0 win. Earlier this season they again won at Edgar Street, 4-0 thanks to a late collapse by the Bulls after dominating large parts of the game.
The Silkmen are rock bottom of the form table, having recorded one win in their last 19 matches. An early season smell of the play-offs seemed to set in a severe case of vertigo, and they've been on the slide ever since. In that run of games they have netted only 11 times, two of them own goals. It almost seems that the Bulls need to just bring it to take the points, but the home side have beaten both Port Vale and Swindon at home and will be no jabronies.
The Bulls have elected the people's champion to lead them away from danger, and opted not to give the elbow to any of their existing coaching staff. Richard O'Kelly has the support on his side from his time assisting Graham Turner, but will need the players to know their roles so that he can produce the most electrifying football in League Two and layeth the smack down on the rest of the division.
Macclesfield Town vs Hereford United, Moss Rose, Tuesday 6th March, 7.45pm.
