News Round-Up

Bradford are reported to have signed midfielder Caolan Lavery from Ipswich. The teenager turned down a new deal with Ipswich last month, with the Northern Ireland u19 international opting to move on. Torquay have loaned winger Lloyd Macklin to Conf South side for an initial month. The 20 year old has started only one League match for the Gulls this season.

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has had a go at Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio after the Italian said he wanted to sign Gills winger Adam Rooney. The 20 year old is expected to leave Priestfield after turning down a new deal with the club. Bradford have opted to delay season tickets sales until they are further up the table. They usually open sales before Christmas with substantial discounts.

Port Vale's civil war resumed last night after the Supporters Club were refused access to one of the club's bars to hold a pre-arranged meeting. The organisation had, earlier in the day, held a 'fraught' meeting with the club's board which produced the revelations that neither Chairman Peter Miller nor CEO Perry Deakin had actually bought the necessary shares in the club.

Local paper The Sentinel claims the pair walked out of the meeting after revelations that they had not paid for £350,000 worth of shares as previously claimed, while Miller is on a £100,000 a year wage - the first paid Chairman the club has ever had. The Supporters Club held their meeting at another hastily arranged location, and had a unanimous vote of no-confidence in the current board. They will also hold a protest at a forthcoming home game.

Bradford boss Phil Parkinson has threatened to fine players that use Twitter to reveal team news or injuries. He has already warned several players over telling their followers sensitive team information. Stockport boss Jim Gannon says he has no regrets at returning to the club in the wake of their 7-0 midweek loss. He told the press 'If I didn't take the club, this club would've had a real chance of dying.'

Bristol Rovers midfielder Matt Gill has been ruled out for two months after undergoing knee surgery. The 31 year old club captain has been a regular since signing in the summer.
